- Competition is conducted with World Karate Federation (WKF) regulations and those decided by the tournament officials.
- KATA
- You may perform the same kata from the first round to the top 16. You must perform two different kata alternately from the top 8 to the final. These kata must be different from the one/s you performed from the first round to the top 16. You may perform any kata.
- KUMITE
- There are three divisions in Adult Male I (less than 170cm, 170cm and above, and the open-height category). You can participate in only one division.
- There are no weight or height divisions in Junior Male and Junior Female I and II (13 - 18 years old) and Adult Female I (19 - 34 years old), Adult Male and Female II (35 - 39 years old), and Adult Male and Female III (40 years old and up).
- EVENT
- You can participate in both kata and kumite.
- Eligibility for Competition
- Those who belong to Ryuei-Ryu and/or those who participate in the seminars.
- Those who are under 13 years old can participate in seminars only.
- The competition age must be the age you will be as of December 31, 2008.
- Participants must be in good health.
- Awards
- Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each event.
- Certificates will be awarded to the top 8 in each event.
- Insurance
- The organizer will provide first aid for injuries that occur during the seminar and/or competition. However, it will assume no responsibility afterwards.
- Casualty insurance is included in the registration fee that the participants pay to the organizer. This insurance is limited to the injuries that occur during the seminar and/or competition. The organizer will assume no responsibility beyond that.
- Other
- Those who do kumite are required to wear safety equipment.
- Junior Male I and II (13 - 18 years old) are required to wear fist guards (blue or red), body protector, mouth piece, groin cup and head gear with face protector.
- Adult Male I, II, and III (19 to 40+) are required to wear fist guards (blue or red), mouth piece, and groin cup.
- Junior Female and Adult Female I, II, and III, are required to wear fist guards (blue or red), body protector, mouth piece, and head gear with face protector.
- Shin pads may be used for all the events.
- All competitors are responsible for their own safety equipment. We will be selling WKF and/or JKF certified safety equipment (the organizer will not provide any safety equipment).
- The organizer will have red and blue belts although you may bring your own.
- How to Register
- Registration is only accepted online.
- Each organization that registers must include a list of all participants' names from that organization
- Payment Process: Wire transfer to Okinawa, Japan. Instructions will be provided at the end of the registration process. Please email honten@air-okinawa.co.jp with any questions.
- Registration Deadline
- All registration forms must be submitted between January 1st, 2008 and June 30th, 2008 (Japan time).
- Participation Fees (in Yen)
- Seminars: 15,000 Yen (mandatory for all participants)
- Insurance Fee: 1,000 Yen
- Tournament Fee: 2,000 Yen for Kata, 2,000 Yen for Kumite
- NOTES
- The cost for those who only take the Seminars will be 16,000 Yen (Seminar and Insurance Fee).
- The cost for those who participate in the Seminars and Tournament will be 18,000 Yen if participating only in one event and 20,000 Yen if participating in two events.
- You must participate in the seminars in order to participate in the tournament.
- Payment must be paid in yen.
- All costs (Seminars, Insurance Fee, and Tournament Fee) must be paid in full with one deposit for each organization.
- No refunds for Seminars and/or Tournament Fees.
- Registration will be confirmed when both the form and full payment are received.
